2012 Prophecies & Preparations: #1- Climate Change & Events

Our current time is known by many different names including; the Global Earth Changes, the New Golden Age, the Golden Age, the 2012 Era, the New Age, the New Era, to name but a few.

To be honest I haven’t decided which “label” I prefer – possibly because I don’t really like any of them.  But at this stage, I can’t think of something else. 

As a trivial aside, I’d love to know which you prefer and if possible, why.  Or if you can think of something different please let us know that one.  Just add it to the comment box below.

Also the Internet is rife with prophetic stories and sources for this time.  Yet research demonstrates that most of the sources cited are questionable at best, and on the whole, totally inaccurate with no evidence of any mention of this time on the planet.   Nevertheless, some of these questionable prophetic sources come from Mother Shipton, Nostradamus, the so-called Lost Book of Nostradamus, the Prophecies of Merlin, Prophecies of the Roman Pontiffs, the Sibylline Books, and so on. 

On the other hand, prophecies from the Bible, and ancient and native cultures around the world, such as the Hopi, Mayan, Incas, Hindu, and Ancient Egypt, are far more compelling and all have a very similar story, even though the metaphor might change from place to place, and also the source or basis for the prophecy.

Whether the prophecies come from the more credible sources such as ancient cultures, or the alleged sources, which don’t actually give this time a mention at all; all the prophecies tend to fall into one of three broad scenarios.  All three of which I mentioned in my free book – Exploring 2012 – which is available for immediate download when you subscribe to my mailing list.

 

SCENARIO  # ONE

There will be a major cataclysmic geophysical doomsday end to our physical world.  With this story there will be some who will be “saved” to start the world again, no doubt like in the TV show Terra Nova.  Some reports of the disasters say that only 500,000 humans will remain on Earth.

 

SCENARIO  # TWO

The change will be purely spiritual and be about an evolution in consciousness and the associated changes that higher consciousness brings.

 

SCENARIO  # THREE

This is a combination of scenarios one and two – Spiritual evolution and ascension for some, with a lot of people being killed in massive geophysical disasters.

Over the coming weeks, I will publish a series of articles analyzing these various prophecies.  And I’ll also discuss any possible preparations that can be taken for each. 

These articles are actually Part 2 of my free book – Exploring 2012.

It was my intention to publish one article ever day or so, but like at this time is too complex to make any promises as to publication dates.

Today, I’ll begin with Scenario One – “The Great Doomsday Stories”.  And so from today, I’ll publish a single article covering one of the many doomsday stories that are out there frightening people unnecessarily.  Having covered the Doomsday Stories, I’ll move on to articles about the other two scenarios.

I figure that one short article every now and again is going to be easier to read than one VERY long one all at once.

 

 

SCENARIO # ONE – THE GREAT DOOMSDAY STORIES

Scenario one has been greatly reinforced for many by the Bible and the book of Revelation.  The problem is, as Biblical scholar and theologian Miceal Ledwith explains, the book of Revelation has been totally misinterpreted.  Ledwith argues that the geophysical global Armageddon we read about in Revelation is purely a metaphor for an internal evolution of consciousness.  As an example going through the seven plagues is a metaphor for evolving through the seven chakras. 

Knowing how important metaphors were to help understanding, especially in times gone by, I find Ledwith’s position not only interesting, but one I can certainly agree with.  He supports his claims in a very persuasive way in his DVD –  2012: Alignment of Chaos.

This DVD is in the form of a long, but very well researched talk.  Whilst there are a couple of points he makes that I disagree with, overall it’s one of the best 2012 DVDs I’ve seen – and I’ve seen a heck of a lot of them.

I will go into Ledwith’s arguments about the Book of Revelation in more detail in a later article on our changes in spiritual consciousness.

Most Commonly Predicted Geophysical Changes

From a Mayan perspective, and indeed the perspective of the ancient cultures, nowhere does anyone say that the end of the physical world will occur at this time. 

Even so, the Internet abounds with dire warnings of imminent world-ending disasters.  These include the following scenarios:

*  Climate Change and Associated Dramatic Geo-Physical Events

* Polar Shifts

 # 1 – Magnet Polar Reversal or Geomagnetic Reversal

 # 2 – True Polar Wandering  – True Reversal and Crust Slippage        

*  Reversal of the Earth’s Rotation

*  Earth’s Core Heating Up

*  Solar Winds and Solar Flares, Magnetic Field Changes, and Gamma Rays         

* Changes resulting from the Galactic Alignment and Procession of the Equinoxes

 

Other than all of that we’re fine !

 

As I explained above, over the coming weeks/months I’ll write an article analyzing each of the above predictions.  At the end of each article, I’ll put together a summary of any possible preparations that you can make.  However, the main physical preparations that will apply to everything will be found at the end of this first article.

   

PREDICTED CLIMATE CHANGE AND ”EXTREME WEATHER EVENTS”

This is the easiest and quickest to cover because it is so familiar to everyone and so is the most obvious of the geophysical changes.

Almost every day we are seeing many catastrophic geophysical disasters such as Tsunamis, Earthquakes, Tornadoes, Volcanic Eruptions, and the like. 

If you go to http://earthquake.usgs.gov/earthquakes/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.php you can see a daily output of the recorded earthquakes 4.5+ worldwide, and anything over 2.5 in the USA.  This is an excellent site with some great information on it.

These various geophysical disasters have all caused the loss of many lives and for the poor people living in the regions where these disasters have occurred, total geophysical annihilation has happened to many of them.  But it has only been regional and not global as the ‘doomsayers’ keep telling us.

However, I do feel that these events will get a lot worse before they get better.

Now what do I base this “feeling” on?

Two things – the first is definitely intuition, and in the past my intuition has been pretty good. 

The second reason for my ‘feeling’ is of course due to the so-called effects of climate change.  However, there is a lot more going on than just climate change.  Extreme weather events will also occur as a result of the increase in solar and cosmic activity over the next couple of years and the slight possibility of some of the other predicted changes that I’ll write about in this series of articles.  As a result, I will keep referring back to this “Climate Change and Extreme Weather Events” scenario in future articles.

 

 

WHAT IS THE CAUSE?

The current main-stream story is that Climate Change is causing virtually all of these dramatic events such as melting of the ice caps, flooding, earthquakes, tsunamis, and the like. 

I definitely agree that there is no doubt that our climate is changing and that these changes are resulting in the disasters – extreme weather events – that I have just mentioned.  The question is, however, what is causing our climate to change?

Again, the main-stream story is that the increase in human made CO2 is virtually the only cause of climate change.  But this is not so.  To put it  all down to an increase of human-made CO2 is far, far too simplistic.

I certainly believe that everyone needs to live more lightly on the planet – for ethical reasons.  Yet relatively no one even discusses these issues.   As an example, we are destroying far too much biodiversity such as trees and creatures.  We are also putting far too much waste into our environment in land-fills, water and air pollution.

Were you aware that there is a section of the Pacific Ocean called the Great Pacific Garbage Patch aka Garbage Island.  It covers an area of between 700,000 square kilometres and some reports say at times it gets as big as the USA.  It’s located in the Northern Pacific Ocean between Canada and Russia. This is the largest, but not the only, garbage patch where ocean currents and winds have pulled human-dumped marine garbage into a vortex which keeps the 700K+ pool of garbage endlessly swirling around and around. 

We, members of the human race, should be ashamed of ourselves.

And the more we extract from beneath the ground, such as coal and oil, the more we are polluting the surface of the earth and the air we breathe in the form of many so-called greenhouse gases including CO2 and methane.

In addition, it is true that the evidence is overwhelming that our CO2 levels have greatly increased over the last 100+ years.  It is also true that excessive CO2 is significantly affecting certain aspects of our environment.  For instance, our oceans are becoming acidic due to the excess of CO2.  This, in turn, is having a very deleterious effect on our ocean creatures.  And our human use of CO2 does, indeed, need to be greatly reduced.

The days of fossil fuels have reached their used-by date and there is no excuse for not implementing major alternative fossil free power projects.   There is a great deal that I could say about cost-free energy.  But I’ll leave all of that for another time.

Suffice to say, that all of those practices should be stopped, or at the very least, greatly reduced.

Further, I’ll continue to argue that all business organisations should be working to convert to ecologically sustainable operations for ethical reasons.

But are humans the only cause of excessive CO2 and, in turn, climate change and the resulting earthquakes and floods?   And is it just the CO2 that is causing climate change?

There certainly was a time when I did think that human-caused CO2 was the major cause of our climate change.

However, continued open-minded research convinces me that our changing and erratic climate is also largely due to changes from time to time in our chaotic moulten outer core, inside the Earth; as well as, cosmic forces including solar discharges, and electromagnetic forces and plasma, reaching from beyond the Earth’s boundaries to our Earth as well as other planets, as cosmic electrically charged plasma does.  I’ll talk more about this in the fourth or fifth article, on Solar Flares, in this series.

As indicated in the previous paragraph, there are a great many causes of climate change other than human-made CO2.  As such, the current narrow minded focus on human-made CO2 is totally out of step with reality.  It is far too simple to account for climate change as we know it.  And far too simple to lead us to an ethically sustainable planet. 

Again, in a separate article at another time in the future, I’ll go into this topic of sustainability, of which I am most passionate, in greater depth because we humans do have a lot of work to do on the planet before we are even beginning to live an environmentally sustainable life.

Not only that, but living in harmony with nature is one of the essential things we must do in our New Era of Higher Consciousness. 

However, for the purpose of these 2012 scenarios, I’ll leave it at that.

 

Climate Change is definitely causing many of our life threatening disasters – our extreme weather events – such as Earthquakes, Flooding, and so forth.  But they are regional disasters and not the global Armageddon predicted by the doomsayers.

 

 

PREPARATION

Of the predicted geophysical doomsday scenarios listed above, this scenario on climate change is the main one you can prepare for.  If we have a polar reversal, or a geomagnetic reversal, or are hit by gamma waves, or a comet, then there is absolutely nothing that you can do about it.

But things like cyclones, tsunamis, earthquakes, et cetera can be considered.  And the number one consideration is where do you live?

 

Where Do You Choose to Live?

Now if you live on the west coast of the USA, you don’t need me to warn you that at any time one of the many fault lines could move and you could end up on an island if you’re lucky, or in a deep hole is you’re not.

I’ve seen TV documentaries showing signs on the west coast saying something like, “earthquake evacuation trail”.  I mean, surely that says it all.

Yellowstone Park could blow up at any time and make Mt St Helens look like a bee sting.

Every fault line on this planet is overdue for a major shift.  This means that 2012, or not, at any time a major disaster could happen.

Again, if you live in one of these danger zones, you already know about it. 

So if you live where they are, you can expect that it is very likely that in your lifetime a disaster will happen to you.  Don’t fool yourself with “oh but it won’t happen to us”.  If you’re in a danger zone it could well happen to you and happen at any time. 

So the choice is yours as to where you live.

As an example, I do live in a cyclone region.  But it’s a region in the mountains, and so can’t be affected by tsunamis, and is back from the coast so that the initial wind damage from the cyclone is nowhere near as intense as those living on the coast.

I chose to live here in the mountains for all of the climate change regions AND because I love it up here.  There are safer places in Australia to live, but I’m happy here and definitely take some precautions.

Again, where you live might be somewhere I would never risk, but it is your choice, your life, and your journey. 

And the most important thing is that if you have chosen to live in a risk-zone that you live there and take care but do not be afraid.  The greater your fear, the greater the chance that you’ll attract something nasty to happen to you.

 

 

What and How to Prepare

At this time and for the next few years, for reasons that I’ll go into in future articles in this series, there are some very basic preparations that I believe everyone should make, whether you are in a danger zone or not.

Why?  Because by definition, whilst the danger zones are the most dangerous, no one knows what other forces, again that I’ll talk about in forthcoming articles, could affect other areas.

 

Living as I do in a cyclone area, we all have cyclone kits prepared and activities to do, especially as the warmer months arrive.

The above guides are suitable no matter where you live. 

And it is my strongest recommendation that you do follow the advice, especially in the NASA guide. 

As the boy scouts tell us – Be Prepared. 

 

I hope you’ll print the NASA guide up.  There’s no use waiting until you’ve lost your electricity to check it out.

All being well, you won’t need to use any of it. But as the other good old saying goes “hope for the best, and prepare for the worst” and you can’t go wrong.

 

Now to the question: do I think anything significant geophysically could happen at this time? 

No one knows. 

Indeed no one will know until it actually happens, as was the case with the poor people in Japan on March 11^th, this year.  No one knew until it happened.

Am I concerned that some dramatic global geophysical event will happen at this time – the answer is not really.  But I am still prepared if it does.  I will explain in future articles why I feel that way. 

The bottom line is, so long as I’ve taken the basic precautions mentioned in the section, which I have, then what ever happens, happens. And there is nothing more I can do about it, other than just accept it.

Hopi Elders Statement

You have been telling the people that this is the eleventh hour. Now you must go back and tell the people that this is the hour. And there are things to be considered:

• Where are you living?
• What are you doing?
• What are your relationships?
• Are you in right relation?
• Where is your water?
• Know your garden
• It is time to speak your truth
• Create your community
• Be good to each other
• And do not look outside yourself for the leader.

This could be a good time!

There is a river flowing now very fast
It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid
They will try to hold onto the shore
They will feel they are being torn apart
And they will suffer greatly.
Know that the river has its destination.
The elders say we must let go of the shore,
Push off into the river,
Keep our eyes open,
And our heads above water.
Look around, see who is in there with you and celebrate.

At this time in history we are to take nothing personally,
Least of all ourselves
For the moment that we do our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.
The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves!
Banish the word struggle from your attitude and your vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner
And in celebration.

We are the ones we have been waiting for!

A beautiful statement that basically says it all. 

Even so, I will expand on it a little and then add one more perspective.

I’ll just expand on the physical suggestions in the Hopi Message.  I’ll leave the spiritual aspects until the article on the Spiritual scenarios.

 

• Where are you living?

I’ve covered that above.  But also, even if you do live in the mountains, do you live in a valley or on a rise.  Remember that mountain rivers can rise very quickly and flood people in low-lying mountain areas as happened in our city of Toowoomba, Queensland, at the beginning of this year -see http://www.raisingloveconsciousness.com/summary/city-of-brisbane-under-water

 

• What are you doing?

What are you doing to help others?  What are you doing to prepare yourself and your family for anything (or perhaps nothing) physically and spiritually? Are you getting your house in order both physically and spiritually – see http://www.raisingloveconsciousness.com/summary/house-in-order

 

• What are your relationships?

Who do you have relationships with?   It can be anything or anyone. Make a list of them.  You might have relationships with friends, family, work or community colleagues; it might be with beloved pets, or a beautiful garden, or even special possessions. 

 

• Are you in right relation?

If you have family or friends that you haven’t ‘spoken’ to for years – this is a wonderful opportunity to do that now. Are your relationships positive and uplifting, or not?  And if not, what can you do about that? Maybe you’ve just grown apart.  If so, then perhaps it’s time to let that person go so you can both move on with your new lives.  Otherwise do something to make the ‘relation right’.  Are you in right relation with your possessions, desires, job, values, the place you live?  Right relationship with these things can be a lot less obvious and this is the very time to search deeply within yourself for the answers to those questions and free yourselves by letting go of those relations that no longer serve you and make your heart sing.  If you are having problems trying to work out what some of these materiaal right relations are, then my following story might be of help at this time  http://www.raisingloveconsciousness.com/spiritual-journey-parts-1-2-3

 

• Where is your water?

Literally, where do you get your drinking water from?  We can survive for about a month without food, but only a few days without water.  My water comes from a fresh mountain stream and we also have a lot of water tanks around the place.  Where does your water come from? 

If your town water supply was cut off tomorrow, which it could well be if we had a major electronic break-down.  Where would you get your drinking water from?  The supermarkets will sell out within hours.

What about getting a rain-water tank just for drinking?

In an emergency, it is possible to make enough water to keep you alive with a big sheet of plastic and the condensation from the night air.  So long as the night air is not overly polluted.

Do some research of your own into this – but keep it in mind, that it is not impossible for the time to come, even if only for a few days, when you might not be able to turn the tap/faucet on and have your town water flow out.

 

• Know your garden

This is another very important one.  If you have a large garden area, devote some of it at least, to growing your own fresh vegetables and fruit. 

And remember too to grow some protein rich legumes and grains like barley. 

Many years ago, I saw a documentary on a group of people living in the Himalayans who were recognized as the oldest people on the planet, before they we discovered by tourists.  And their main food was barley.  Barley as soup, barley as biscuits, barley as a vegetable, barley balls as a form of treat and on it went.

As many people are finding, we don’t need a geophysical disaster to make it impossible to buy good food.  The cost of buying food these days is already getting higher and higher right around the world.  One of the main issues in the so-called Arab Spring was that people could not afford to buy food any more.

So set up a food patch in your garden.  If you live in a high-rise building, search some information out on growing a small permaculture garden on your balcony if you have one.

However, for people who live in urban areas, one of the best things you can do is to set up a community garden.  All you need is a block of land the size of a small house block and join your neighbours, and work on it together.  Or maybe you have a friend or neighbor who has a large garden area that you could all work on and turn that into a community garden.  Not only will this provide healthy food, but also some beautiful and healthy friendships.

Now one last topic before I go.

 

Urban Danger

As you might now be aware, I live on a farm, and have spent the greatest percentage of my life living on acreage in rural areas.  There are many reasons for this, the greatest of all is because that’s where I love to live.

However, there are some other practical reasons too:

1.  I always say it is far easier to be poor and live in the country, than it is to be poor in the city.  And the way our global economy is going, that is definitely a consideration.

2.  People are far more open, friendly, and relaxed in the bush; and

3.  If need be, I can always be self-sufficient living on acreage rather than in the city, or even in a rural town.  After all, the original explorers had to be self-sufficient when they opened-up our rural lands.

Now the reason that I mention this is because, some little while ago, US Representative Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD), put together a movie called Urban Danger.

Roscoe Bartlett lived through the great depression, so he knows what tough times can be like.  In the movie Mr. Bartlett and others discuss the dangers posed to those living in cities and “ways that your family can survive if the worst were to ever happen”.

Mr Bartlett is in no way referring to any possible 2012 era disasters in his movie.  He probably thinks the 2012 stories are rubbish – I don’t know.  But he is just referring to general crises, such as hurricanes, and economic crises, and so forth.  All of which could be with us at any time – especially the economic crises.

In essence he and the others in the film, discuss why it is safer to live in the country and how best to live in the country.  As one fellow in the film mentions, at the first sign of a disaster people make a run on the supermarkets and, as if a herd of locusts has arrived, the supermarket shelves are empty before you know it.

This is something we regularly experience up here in the wet season.  Either people are stocking up on emergency supplies before a cyclone hits.  Or a far more common event is that due to flooding south of us, the roads and rail are cut by flood waters and so supermarket-type food supplies can’t get through.  And within days, the supermarket shelves containing the basic staples and all edible foods are empty.

However, as I mentioned above, if you have some spare land around you, you can grow the essentials – as suggest by the Hopi Elders.

Now I am not suggesting that everyone frantically moves out of their city home.  There are ways, which I’ve suggested above, to make your city home a lot more self-sufficient than it probably is at the moment.

Nevertheless, this is a very interesting film to watch and reflect on what is said, and it might give you some extra ideas as well.

One final note, 2012 prophecies or not, I have followed to a certain extent virtually all of the suggestions in this “How to Prepare” section for most of my life.  Certainly long before I gave much thought to 2012.  Living this way is how I was taught to live as a child growing up on a farm in the bush.

But at this special time when anything could possibly happen, or not; the above preparations are always a good idea.
