Hello,
I have found a wonderful series of short video talks that I want to share with you on the Maya, the Mayan Calendar, Mayan culture, and most importantly the Maya’s writings.
The talks are delivered by Professor Mark van Stone who is a leading Mayan scholar and has been studying the Maya and their writings for the past 25 +years. Indeed, his PhD thesis was on Maya Hieroglyphs.
So Prof, van Stone is one of the few scholars who REALLY DOES know what the Maya actually said about 2012.
Below you’ll find his bio and some information about one of his beautiful books.
You’ll find that Prof. van Stone disagrees with a lot of what is currently found on the Internet about the Mayan Calendar and 2012. And that’s fine because at least you are finally getting the truth about the Maya.
However, that does not mean that there is no evidence whatsoever for change.
If you read my article http://www.raisingloveconsciousness.com/summary/2012prophecies-mayan-calendar-evidence-for-this-time you’ll see that there are a lot of ”signs” for change other than just the Mayan Calendar.
But I feel that it is most important to FINALLY be able to sort the wheat from the chaff. This video series will help you do just that.
When will the Mayan video Series Begin?
The video series will begin this coming Wednesday, February 1st and then a new video will be published every day – Monday to Friday – until the beginning of March.
All the videos are relatively short normally from 5 mins to 10 mins. Although on Wednesday, by way of introduction, I will be publishing two videos, one of which is only about 2 1/2 minutes.
These short videos will be in addition to the normal article of the day. So there will still be something for everyone if you’re not interested in the Maya.
Even so, these videos are a must see if you are even remotely interested in the truth about the Maya.
Tell Your Friends about this Free Video series of Maya talks throughout February
Yes, if you do have friends who are the least bit interested in learning the truth about the Maya, then do send them along to our Raising Love Consciousness magazine.
And remind them that these video are the real-deal coming from years of focused detailed research. No taking guesses or attempting to frighten people, and no interpreting messages from psychic readings. Whilst channelling and psychic reading can be interesting, from my experience it is not often that I’ve found anyone who is really on the mark.
So do tell your friends. Remember to set aside that maximum of 10 minutes a night, or day, and absorb what Prof van Stone has to say.
And let’s see if we can make this new magazine as interactive as my old blog was.
There are sure to be things in the videos that you agree with or disagree with, or love or hate.
So share those thoughts with us, no matter what they are, so we can all join in the conversation.
And I might even be able to get Prof van Stone to address some of the more controversial comments.
Mark van Stone PhD’s latest book (October 2010)
2012 – Science and Prophecy of the Ancient Maya
2012 – Science and Prophecy of the Ancient Maya, is a full-color, 172-page book inspired by Maya inscriptions, astronomical knowledge, math, and myth.
Responding to the upsurge in interest in “the Maya prophecies”, Prof. Mark Van Stone has spent the last several years researching What the Ancient Maya Actually Said about 2012. The result is based entirely on science, archaeology, decipherment, and Precolumbian art.
To make this arcane material as accessible as possible, he examines aspects of the phenomenon in 38 short, digestible essays, which one can read in any order. It is eminently browsable. It is also dense with information: Dr. Van Stone does not “dumb down” information to reach some imaginary least common denominator. It is also visually appealing; the only art book on the subject. ..
Professor Mark van Stone – Biography
Going back even further, he began studying the art and history of written forms about 40 years ago. He started with Celtic manuscripts such as the 7th/8th- century Books of Kells and Lindisfarne. Progressing to Roman and Greek inscriptions, and to Egyptian hieroglyphs, he later lived in Japan, studying netsuke carving and calligraphy.
Finally, he received his Ph.D. in Maya Hieroglyphs in 2005,
Dr. Van Stone combines a rare general understanding of all ancient scripts with an even rarer ability to *write* them, not just read them.
These 2012 – “Mayan Calendar” videos will NOT be boring and academic
You want to know what the Ancient Maya said about 2012, why not ask someone? Dr. Van Stone has examined virtually every piece of actual Mayan literature about this subject (and a few that are only tangentially relevant, but very entertaining). And he has come up with a readable, funny, intelligent conclusion, one simple enough for terrified high-schoolers who worry that they won’t grow up, as well as the serious scholar. The several dozen essays are independent enough to read in any order, but exhaustively cross-referenced so they lead logically from one to another.
